We Moved To Texas!!!

Arriving via Air Plane to San Antonio

I am the type of girl who has no problem telling people what I think from the bad parents at Walmart to the people texting in movie theaters. I have no issue speaking up to strangers and tell them what I think but when it comes to goodbyes, at my core I am wimp. I know I can hear your sarcastic gasps through the screen. I owe apologies to several close buddies, who blowes out of town and doesn't leave a forwarding address? Creeps like me, that's who. For those of you who don't know Cookie accepted a job at the University of Phoenix in San Antonio Tx. The perks include a free Masters degree for him and a free second Bachelors degree for me and the bonus is an adventure for our little family. We love Salt Lake but we are looking forward to what fun new things we will discover in the Lone Star state!

The Spencer Girls

Every so often Life throws you a break. One of the greatest blessings The pollywogs have ever had was the Spencer girls. I met this fun family 10 years ago when I started teaching Rachel and Lara how to swim. I have also had my hand in coaching these unbelievably talented girls on to state championships and have watched them turn out into wonderful young ladies. Over time Lynda and I became close friends and when it came time for me to go back to work after K-Man was born I had no babysitter lined up for my sweet little 3 month old. I was chatting with Lynda on the phone about my predicament when she said "Are you crazy, he is going to come to my house!" I could not have been more grateful. She opened up her home to K-Man and he received all the love and adoration he could ever possibly want. When I told Lynda we were leaving for Texas we both cried. I knew that we had received the BEST care imaginable between Lynda and my Mothers help. To thank Lynda we went to the Zoo to enjoy our last Friday in Utah. We Love You Lynda, we will never be able to thank you enough for everything!

Stow Aways

The Beans thought he could sneek his way into Grand Jo Mamas bag is he hid in some yoga pants.
K-Man thought he could slip right into the front pocket of her checked luggage

K-Man Climbing into the bag

Then figured out that there was more stuff to play with inside the bag.

To say that we enjoyed having JoMama in town would be an understatement. Her week long trip to Utah turned into 3 weeks and we could not have been happier. As you can see our two boys were not willing to let her go without a fight. We found out all sorts of interesting information about our beloved Jo for example
1. She can put on make up in the dark with no mirror and with one hand behind her back.
2.Heavy Narcotic pain medication could also be used as a truth serum on her
3. When she was a member of 4h as a girl she got a blue ribbon for her Banana Bread at the state fair.
4. I know every celebrity crush she currently and she has some excellent picks!
We had so much fun we cannot wait to see you again in 6 weeks!

K & K Kleen up Krew to the Rescue!!!

A very special thanks to our wonderful Heber cousins that helped us clean up a very nasty and dirty duplex after our renters were evicted. There were all sorts of treasures to be cleaned up like ferret poop, mildew bathrooms and booger walls (just to name the high lights). Did I mention this renter was only there for 3 MONTHS! We called Kris and Kat to ask if they were interested in some bio hazard cleanup last minute and amazingly enough they agreed! They drove the 45 min down Parley's Canyon to help us all evening. You really saved us ladies we would have NEVER had the duplex ready for our next renters with out you!!! I don't think they will ever answer the phone again when we call but if they do they will be treated to a Bee's game and some hot dogs!

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" - Oh and bring Grandma Jo and Grandpa Burton along.

The key to getting inside your opponents head is intimidation with a face only a mother could love.

That or you could make them feel bad by playing around, and pretending not to care when they are up to bat. Seriously what would you rather be doing playing with grandma or watch a team called the Ace's beat up on our Bee's?
Next you've got to call in your back up and really mean it with the intimidation faces. K-man is giving them the constipated don't mess with me look and I am giving them the crazy or happy smile.

All in all we had a great time even though the Bees lost -Oh well, the night was a lot of fun. It was military appreciation night so we got in on Grandpa Burton's and Grandma Jo's military ID's for half price. The Bees player dressed in a camouflage uniforms - I guess that's why it felt like they weren't on the field you really couldn't see if they were playing or not. We even lost K-man in the grass a few times because of his camo overalls purchased by grandma jo. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Memorial Day in Brigham City

What is a memorial day without a trip to Brigham City to visit family?!? We first ate lunch at Craig and Kris' - we had stir fry, fortune cookies and an ice cream dessert too good to describe.

Grandma Jo, Nersey, K-man and I couldn't make the trip without a stop to our favorite candy store in the world - Idle Isle!

Then off to the cemetery we went, where K-man visited the grave of his namesake.

The graves looked beautiful - Uncle Craig did a great job decorating grandma and grandpa's grave.

K-Man and Grandma Jo before we headed home to Salt Lake.
It was a great day, blue sky, warm weather what more could you ask for on Memorial Day?
