Getting To Know You!

This might come as a shock to most of you but I am what you might call a crazy dog person. The Beans and I have been inseprable since he joined our little family. When people would ask how many children we were going to have my favorite answer was 2 dogs. This being said when I found out I was pregnant Cookie and I were beyond excited... and the Beans seemed to know something was up. When we would take naps Beans would sleep as close to my tummy as possible and would usually be rewarded with a couple of swift kicks from K-Man. I was really worried with what the Beans reaction would be when he met our little bundle of joy. Well I was worried for nothing he has been a most excellent guard dog and DOESN'T let me or K-Mna out of his site. When I am nursing and K-Man is on my right Beans is on my left, when we take naps the Beans watches K-man in his bassinet. Above are the first pictures of K-Man meeting his big canine brother, enjoy!

When Grandma Jo Comes to Town!

We were super lucky to have Cookies Mom, Jo Mama fly in from San Antonio on Saturday to spend some time with her newest grandson. We actually invited her to the birth but K-Man had other plans and came abnormally fast, I only pushed for 15 min. Poor Jo Mama caught the red eye and missed his birth by 2 hours so she turned around after a quick glimps at our baby boy. On Friday night she and Grandpa Burton flew in again to spend a weekend of snuggling. It was great having you around and thanks again for the long Sunday nap! Jo Mama is also known for her FABULOUS gifts. She threw K-Man and I a shower about a week before he was born and gifted us the much needed carseat (thank you Burton!) and our super fun Zanzibar bouncer (Seen here with K-Man catching some summer time rays with Cookie). Looks like Jo Mama was right K-Man needed to have something he could enjoy more then the "practical" car seat.

Day Seven Update

Our little guy is now over a week old. Actually, 7 days and roughly 30 minutes old, but in all honesty it feels like he should be 3 months old with all the goings-on. When Kenneth was born he had some respiratory issues - premature lungs - that sent him to the intermediate nursery and then to the NICU. His stay at the hospital was roughly 4 days. One was spent in the NICU, another was spent under bili lights to control jaundice issues. We brought him home on saturday and got to enjoy him along with Grandma Jo and Grandpa Burton all of Sunday. Monday we took him in to follow up on the jaundice which had spiked up to a count of 19.1 - at 22 they do a blood transfusion. We had home health care deliver portable bili lights that we put him under. Thank you to Glamma and Bampa for letting us steal their bedroom for a night and most of Tuesday to take care of our little guy and for taking care of us. We took him in for a check up to do another test yesterday and by 8:00pm he had got his count down to 12.4 and we were finally able to hold our little guy again. He is going in today to take another test and hopefully we will have this jaundice thing under control. We have pictures but we had just not had the time to get them up. Nersey is taking a Math final today, that she missed last friday due to the whole having a baby thing and I am trying my best to jump back into full time work. Other than that we are all doing great. For those coming in for the wedding we can't wait to see you!
