Amy Jo's Mission Call

A few weeks ago Mom flew to Utah and her, K-man and I went to Provo to await the arrival of AJ's Mission Call.
She was so excited that she could hardly stand it.

But because of the Thanksgiving holiday there was nothing there.

Poor Jo Jo.
That is until her call finally showed up. Hope you enjoy.

How I love my Cookie Bear

Digging for gold that Lays up Lady Liberty 's Nose

I am not sure What Cookie was looking for but he sure got a good look!

Blog warning the following message contains a sappy public thank you to my husband. If you have a weak stomach consider yourself warned!
I don't do this enough mostly because I think its cheesy but I do owe my sweet husband a public shout out for all that he does. These pictures were from our trip to New York City when Cookie and I were freshly engaged. We went to see his big brother Doug bless his first son. We had a great time sight seeing with the family but I must admit my favorite parts where we were on our own. The first night we flew in Cookie got us killer seats to Wicked and it was AMAZING! Later in the week we ditched the family and spent the afternoon bumming around the Met taking pictures of famous paintings and statues and getting in trouble with the Met's hall monitors. He patiently smiled next to every famous painting and artifact and did his bessed to blend in with the art work. It is one of many memories that make me giggle when I think about them. Cookie has worked hard to support our little family. When I was on maternity leave I did not recieve a single paycheck and Cookie kept bringing home the bacon and made ends meet without complaint. He is also responsible for ALL of our finances. I shiver to think what type of situation we would be in if I was the brains who worked the books. He is funny and smart and is the best daddy a baby could hope for. I love you cookie bear and count myself as the luckiest girl in the world!

This pic is too cute not to post. Happy Holidays!

Play Date with Auntie Liz

Cookie and I scored some tickets to the Play Into The Woods at Hale Center Theater. So we called up my dear pal Lizzy for a play date with K-Man. Her answer was a very excited Yes. I knew my guy was in very capable hands not only does Lizzy love babies she will watch them for the very attractive price of a plate of brownies. For those readers who don't know Lizzy is the one with red hair and her sister Sarah is the one in the hoodie. Thanks ladies K-Man had a blast!

A Not So Fun Night in the E.R.

Well, for as good as our little boy has been he is not feeling so well today. This morning at about 2:45 a.m. he began to whimper as he slept, waking up his parents. We took several temperature readings and called our doctor( or the doctor who was on call - he actually supervises our NP who is Kenneths primary care provider). Our little guy was burning up at a tempurature of 103.4 degrees - so away we went to the hospital. Being that it was 3:30 in the morning by this point we were one of two other people that were being treated and we were admitted right away. Our little guy endured test after test. Our great nurse Fritz took urine, blood and snot samples to see what was going on. Happy to say for the time being everything is clear - primary test came back negative for anything, he has a shot of anti-biotic that they gave him before discharging us and he and mom are now home sleeping the day away - they both need their rest! We are awaiting the result of blood and urine cultures and should have the results by Friday morning-afternoon. Prayers for our little guy would be greatly appreciated, but we aren't expecting anything horribly shocking to come back from the tests. Love all of you and hope you are doing well.

A Bit Late for Halloween Eh?

I like to think of myself as being fashionably late. We had lots of fun this fall, K-Man makes Cookie and I more fun. For his first Halloween we decorated sugar cookies, carved pumpkins, and visited lots of family. My sister Cyncha came in from Seattle and Cookies brother Nate from Seattle. Both of them brought their fun families into town. Unfortunitly we forgot our camera, BOO! The Seattle Millers were dressed in the spookiest and most incredibly dazzling costumes. Cayden was a storm trooper, Marlee was Cinderella and Garrett was a very sweet little skunk. We had lots of fun sitting out the front porch at Marla's house (Heather's Mom) watching trick or treaters come to the door and watch Marlee give handfulls of candy to lucky trick or treaters. Cyncha's big guy was a very fierce lion. It was fun to compare our two guys Davis is amazing he is all over the place crawling like a pro. He is six months older then K-Man but they are about the same size. It is truely a tragedy that we didn't have our camera. Glama was is right the only picture you regret is the one you don't take (or the one you didn't suck in your tummy for) .

For All Those Baby Hungry Grandma's and Aunties

Hizzah for babies!!! We love being parents, K-man keeps us busy. He giggles all the time (except for manditory tummy time). He is working on doing push ups, sitting up and standing up on our laps with assistance of course! Everyday this guy changes, He is constently learning new tricks and is also a great chamilian. It is all in his facial features, I maintain that when he is smiling/ giggling he looks pure Davis and when he cries/grumpy he is pure Miller. Cookie however disagrees.

An Apology to Erika America

My good friend Erika and I met on a train heading into Siberia. We forgded a friendship on those long cold nights deep in Russia's outer darkness. Long story short Erika is great. She had recently posted a blog about Obama's wonderful win not being wonderful win for America. Obviously my first gut reaction is how she couldn't be more wrong. I then proceded to write a novel of a comment on her blog listing my reasons as to why we as Americans have nver been so lucky. I am always up for a spirited debate about politics. I still believe that Obama is the best man for the job and will do alot of good things to improve our country but maybe next time I will not shoot my mouth off so quickly on someone elses blog. I just can't seem to help myself. Long story short I love you Erika and I will do my best. Please don't forget your old pal Jendy when you privatize your blog.

Me and my Moma Voted For Obama!!

From my earliest memories I knew I was first and foremost a Democrat. In fact I like to joke that my Dad had eight children in an attempt to out breed Republicans in Utah. When we were young children we would chant before dinner (even before we blessed the meal) U of U YEAH!!!! BYU BOO!!!... DEMOCRATS YEAH!!!! REPUBLICANS BOO!!! This was perhaps my dad's favorite sunday night ritual especially when Grandmother Smith would dine with us. This is my favorite day in November and look forward to slummin it to the polls and hoping against hope that maybe this year my guy might win. In fact I have voted in every election that Ihave been eligable to vote. I barely missed that crucial 2000 Bush/Gore vote and it has been a long eight years my friends. I am gratefull for our democracy and that we as Americans have the right, oppurtunity, and the responsiblity to vote. God Bless America!!!

VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHO EVER YOU VOTE FOR, WHEREVER YOU ARE. JUST GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!

What's cha got there?

Well folks today was my first day back to work and let me tell you eight hours has never felt so long! It was fun to get back and chit chat with my co-workers and show them cute baby pic's. Cookie even brought K-Man to work so I could get a mid day snuggle in. Even with all of these highs I still managed to hit a new low. I was coming out of the walk in freezer when I felt my milk come in, naturally I grabbed my breasts as a reflex, as I was doing this my boss Carissa turns the corner with her adorable two year old daughter to catch me in my unconcious grope. Always the diplomat she asked me "what cha got there?". I got to admit my quick wit failed me and I had NOTHING, I just muttered something about not being in public for awhile. She just laughed and welcomed me back.

By Popular Demand...

Glama and I went to Gardner Village to capture K-Man playing in Halloween camoflauge. As you can see he seemed to tolerate it at best, although there was no open war cry like screams we had a very difficult time capture his sweet gummy smile. I had posted some pic's on phrogbottom phorum and was asked by Jomama to post some more on polywogs. The cute pumpkin costume was purchased by the fantastic Jomama last year when she got a sneaky feeling that she would have a grandbaby to wear it for next year's Halloween. She also admitted that when she purchased it for 29 cents that she hoped it would be Cookie and I that would be needing to dress a baby for this most festive of all holidays. I tell this story because it showcases 2 of Jomama's super powers, 1. She is able to find THE MOST AMAZING DEALS on anything and 2. she has a spidy sense for grandbabies. It is really is amazing she knew we were pregnant before we even concieved!!! Another side note on her second super power the week before Christmas we were celebrating together with Cookies family and she mentioned that her Christmas wish was that we were pregnant, again we did not yet know we were. It is truely dumbfounding!

The Day Bean Town Cried

Tonight was a night of absolute tragedy The Red Sox lost all chance of going to the world series. To make matters worse Poor little K-Man does not see how truely sad this is. Brave little soul that he is, he is just grinning and baring the loss like a trooper, Cookie on the other hand is curled up in fetal position muttering four letter words.

Three Miller Men and a Lady

A couple of weeks ago we got the sad news that Cookies Grandma was dying, so that evening we drove to the hospital to pay our respect but unfortunitly we missed her by 20 minutes. We had the oppurtunity to take Aunt Maryanne to dinner and learn more about Grandma Miller as a mom. Its sad that generally speaking we learn the most about people at their funerals. Grandma Miller was an amazing quilter, baker and chef. She taught English at her kids high school and would spend her lunch with uncle Jim. She was also an avid reader and we actually share a favorite book Withering Hights. The service was lovely lots of funny stories and beautiful music. There was also an unintentional imprompto gathering at Idle Isle chocolate store after the grave side service (another tribute to Grandma she LOVED their chocolates). It was great to meet Cookie's miller family for the first time. We also had the chance to introduce K-Man for the first time to Cookies dad Rob and very special lady friend Roxanne (The tall drink of water in the two bottom pictures)

Davis and Me

September was perhaps the busiest month of K-Man's life. We had uncle b's wedding so all kinds of the Davis family came into town. The we had K-man's blessing and met the Easton cousins. But I am going to say that the best part of September was having Aunt Cindy, Uncle Shane and cousin Davis around for the entire month!! We are looking forward to Halloween when they come back for Uncle Shane's Mom's wedding. These are just some fun shots of Davis and K-Man.

Rock and Roll, Baby!!!

I know, I know, These pictures are not current but I could not resist posting them. We have plenty of current photo's that are not downloaded onto the computer yet so I am posting some more of the oldies. Words cannot express how lucky I feel to be intrusted with this sweet little soul, I spend most of my day staring at him in awe.

Take That You Nasty Gall Blatter!

To all my innards, I would like them to know that they are on notice. If they start causing me grief they will be packing their bags, you got that pancrease and kidney? Just ask your friend the gall blatter... oh wait. Aparently women who just give birth are at a higher risk for gall stones and let me tell you they are NASTY! NASTY!NASTY! I went into surgery this morning at 7:30am and was released from the hospital at 12pm. The surgery went well and I am feeling great I have the worlds best nurse maid, Cookie has waited on me hand and foot and is doing all of the care giving to K-Man (I am not supposed to lift anything over 10lbs and K-Man is now a hefty 15.3). Cookie may have a new calling in life he makes a very attentive nurse, I am very lucky to have such a great husband. My family is pretty awesome, Bampa took me to the hospital and waited for me despite his extreme dislike for hospitals and Glama watched my sweet little baby boy. I really do feel blessed to have such a wonderful support group, thanks again for all of your help!

Cute Baby Pic's and 2 month stat's

I am the worst blogger, which is unfortunate because I have fantastic source material. Last week I took our little man cub for his 2 month check up and here are the stats, Length 22 1/2 inches long (50%) and wieght 13.2 oz (75%) and for mistletoes he happened to be off the charts in cuteness. Our little baby sure does like to grow! He also does some new tricks like smile and swat at the toys above his head. P.S. These photo's were from early August they were just to cute not to post. My favorite is the 3am milk coma in the boppy followed by the gun show
